Pousada Nova Holanda

Everything in the Pousada Nova Holanda is simple and practical. Because is was build using natural materials and tropical woods it's really beautiful though. The apartments have a lot of space, are comfortable and in excellent condition.

Our biggest fans are children, because they have there own little sleeping room and start bargening right away who is to sleep in the upper bed. Elderly people love that we don't have cheap sound all day and that you just hear the sound of the wind and the sea at night. Prices are such, that those who spend the wintertime in Spain will find our place a luxury they can easily afford. We are informal and easy going.

No room maid will wake you up at nine to clean the room and you can have breakfast any time and there are no waiters passing by selling drinks. Everything just happens when you ask for it, the moment you ask for it.

The Pousada Nova Holanda is the strongest activist on environmental issues in the region. Because the dutch owner -being a foreigner- is not allowed to get involved in politics, he was obliged to adopt the legal way, bringing all inflictions of environmental laws to justice. This turned out to be quite a successful tactics, because it showed that local authorities were not prepared to be confronted this way.

The Pousada dos Peixes took the lead, managing to ban the cars from the beach in Barra do Cunhau, in order to preserve the sea turtles and is now processing the State of Rio Grande do Norte to do the same regarding the beaches in between Barra and Baia Formosa. Furthermore there were legal procedures initiated against the local authorities regarding waste disposal and the use of excessive sound. A project that was meant to better the local infrastructure, but never was completed is now under investigation of corruption.
