Zen Bend

Creative Reuse Wire Hangers -minimally modified and interlocked into Sculpture and Functional items. Zen Bend provides single hanger and multi-hanger art, household items, and workshops to promote "Reuse and Re-Reuse of Wire Hangers".

Zen Bend will accept wire hangers to be upcycled into sculpture, puzzles, displays, and even furniture! Both tranforming and tranformable.

Zen Bend strives within strict design parameters for a beautiful and often practical result - creating the next Origami: Ori-Hanger! This is achieved first by maintaining "hanger integrity: throughout the design and fabrication process keep the twist intact and always use the whole hanger.

Workshops include hands-on demonstration and instruction in handling and techniques to make several items each class, including basic geometric forms which can then be interlocked to make life-sized sculpture (ie elephant!).

The concept of balance is introduced as an integral part of Zen Bend Ori-Hanger: mobiles to introduce calming and harmonizing motion.This art/craft has been developing since 1992 and you too can help develop more basic hanger technology by taking a class or making a purchase of a current Zen Bend product.
