Ecology Center

The Ecology Center is a membership organization providing environmental information and direct services to promote sustainable living and a healthy, socially just world.

Ecology Center projects include:

The Environmental Resource Center. We maintain the EcoDirectory of local and regional resources, the bi-weekly EcoCalendar of local classes and events, Fact Sheets that address commonly asked questions, a lending library available to members, curriculum for schools, and the Info Desk to answer questions in person, over email or over the phone;

Terrain Magazine, Northern California?s environmental journal;

The Ecology Center Bookstore. We stock books, toys, organic apparel, least-toxic household and personal care items, garden supplies, recycled-content items, and much more;

The Curbside Recycling program for the City of Berkeley;

Berkeley Farmer's Markets;

Farm Fresh Choice. We run weekly produce stands, a youth employment program, and nutrition education program with the goal of increasing the accessibility of quality food and nutrition information in South and West Berkeley;

The Eco House. An ecological demonstration home, resource center, permaculture garden and educational program dedicated to environmentally healthy living.
