ANZSES is a section of the International Solar Energy Society and has been established in Australia since 1954. We have approximately 1000 members in Australia and New Zealand. Our membership consists of professionals working in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors as well as interested members of the public.

In addition to providing a range of member services (information dissemination, networking, etc) and renewable energy promotion and lobbying at the national and local levels, ANZSES runs few events each year:


1. An annual conference which focuses on the cutting edge in renewable energy technology and research. This conference attracts speakers and delegates who are leaders in their fields from around Australia and New Zealand, and the rest of the globe.

2. Clean Energy? Can Do! Presentations from the environment spokespeople from every federal Government party, as well as presentations from leading academic and commercial organisations.

3. Sustainable House Day which is a national event targeted at the general public. It is in it's sixth year and grows in popularity each year. It runs on the 2nd weekend of September every year:


"Sustainable House Day is a mainstay event on the national sustainable calendar. Previously known as Solar House Day, the event has undergone a name change in 2006 to more accurately reflect the broad range of sustainable features in the participating houses particularly in relation to the focus on the sustainable use of water. The aim of Sustainable House Day is to showcase sustainable design and to encourage the adoption of sustainable design"
