Rainforest Alliance
The Rainforest Alliance's Neotropics Communications program, based in Costa Rica, provides the general public, government officials, journalists and the environmental community with a wealth of information about solutions to conservation challenges in the Neotropics -- Latin America and the Caribbean -- one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth. We provide researchers and conservationists throughout the Americas with information on the work of their colleagues, so they can build on their efforts and learn from their experiences.
The Eco-Index, www.eco-index.org, is a bilingual, searchable database of more than 900 biodiversity conservation projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. The entire site is available in English and Spanish, and profiles of projects based in Brazil are also available in Portuguese.
For 12 years, the Neotropics Communications staff has published Eco-Exchange (Ambien-Tema in Spanish), a bimonthly bulletin that supplies the worldwide media and conservation community with news about environmental issues and success stories in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Eco-Exchange is distributed to more than 2,500 reporters, conservation groups, foundations, government agencies and research institutions around the world.
