We believe in sustainable living and business practices, organic materials, replacing wasteful disposables with handy, long-lasting reusables, right-livelihood, fair wages and local employment.

Hankettes imports the majority of it?s fabric from organic cotton wholesalers located in the Southern States; Texas, South Carolina, New Mexico and others.

Once the fabric is here, we cut, sew, silk screen, package, and ship right from our workshop. Items to be dyed are first cut and sewn, then sent to a friend in our village who dyes them in small batches outside in her yard. Final drying and ironing are done in her kitchen.

Hankettes offers a very flexible work environment where everyone sets their own hours, and parents are welcome to bring their children. Even dogs sometimes come, but stay outside or in the office area.
