An Taisce ? The National Trust for Ireland is independent, non-statutory and charitable body in Ireland. It is consulted on the planning applications that could impact on Ireland?s heritage assets. This is a unique role for an environmental charity which makes An Taisce an advocate for the public good.

We believe that a high quality environment is necessary for Ireland to achieve a successful and sustainable economy, as well as a high quality of life. We know that prevention is better than cure, partnership and dialogue are better than conflict and monologue, and strategic planning surpasses reactive expediency.

An Taisce focuses on the conservation of Ireland?s rich natural heritage. This includes clean air and water, ecological communities (ecosystems) like woods, wetlands, lakes, and rivers and Ireland's wonderful coastline.
