Daniel Smith & Associates is a green architecture firm in Berkeley, California. DSA Architects has experience in a wide range of sustainable design practices, from passive solar basics to comprehensive green design with LEED certification.

Our site-responsive, ecological architecture incorporates innovative solutions and natural building materials to create healthy buildings that minimize the impact on the environment.

Our focus is increasingly on sustainable design and use of natural and alternative materials, most notably in our work with straw bale construction. Since the revival of straw bale construction in the early 1990's, DSA has been at the forefront of research and development and has contributed important innovations to the evolving vernacular.
