Smartflo Gutters

Smartflo enclosed gutter offers a practical solution to excluding decaying organic material from collected rainwater. An upper pre-gutter has filter holes placed at 500mm centres, into which are inserted domed polymer filters.

This allows rainwater from the roof to drain through the pre-gutter into a clean running channel, while leaves are dried out on top of the broad, shallow pre-gutter. The design of the pre-gutter makes it easier for wind to remove the dried material, so reducing the fire fuel and contaminant load.

The problem of decomposing organic matter in house gutters has been a perpetual problem for many years. Traditionally, solutions have relied on various kinds of screens fitted over the gutter to separate leaves and other organic matter from rainwater. These are often plagued with siltation, and can also catch and hold leaves on the roof.
