JAED HOMESTAYS AND ECO-TOURISM

We offer a totally different product from the traditional wildlife and beach safari. We offer a learning program focusing upon international travel and inter-cultural exchange, adventure, community service and home stays.

The visitors are presented with a unique environment and an opportunity for self discovery. The trip is adventurous and most tourists who have come from a range of different backgrounds from all over the world have learnt a lot from the community since they stay with a local family that understands the community and have a day to day life experience in a rural setting. After the stay, tourists who will wish to visit the jungle trip will be linked to a tour company that offers reasonable prices.

Although JAED Home stays and eco-tourism is a profit making company, much effort has been made to ensure:- There is reduction of poverty in the area by providing local employment to local tour guides, cooks, gardeners, cleaners, office workers and car hire.

We also buy fresh food and fruits from within the community. We empower people to manage natural resources to our own betterment and for the future of our children and grandchildren through planting of indigenous trees.

We market and preserve our culture and traditions for the future generations through promotion of our traditional festivals and having a local traditional museum.

We work with nonprofit organizations and churches to fight poverty and improve health including tackling HIV /AIDS.

We started a community development committee (CDC) which is responsible for the planning, implementation and co-ordination of development projects and programs within the community. The committee has representatives from all the villages.We invite individuals, families, students, lecturers, researchers, corporate bodies and groups (which include churches, colleges, and student associations).
