The Amazon Yarapa River Lodge is located in the rainforest of Peru along the banks of the Yarapa River, a pristine tributary of the Amazon. We are fully furnished with private rooms, private and shared bathrooms, cooking and dining facilities, multilingual nature guides, and an outstanding nature reserve.
We are a model for rainforest education. Cornell University has partnered with us to build an active field laboratory adjacent to our main lodge, giving a unique opportunity for students and professors to study at the source of this diverse ecosystem.
We are a full-fledged green operation. We use earth-friendly resources, including full solar powering, composting, and flush toilets with a waste management system. We have used local materials and local labor to build the lodge, and we continue to nurture a very close relationship with the nearby villages. We help them with medical and transport concerns and also employ local villagers throughout our lodge. Together, we manage an ever growing nature reserve.
We are flexible. Whether your group contains one or forty people, we can customize a package to meet your needs. We have a strong emphasis for university student field trips and actively promote the lodge for this purpose. We cater to responsible travelers and welcome anyone with an adventurous and open-minded spirit.
