Andaman Discoveries

We a non-profit organization based in the North Andaman, Thailand. We are assisting several villages participate in sustainable, community-led tourism by creating partnerships with organizations like yourselves to assist travelers, tourists and volunteers visit and enjoy the villages and stunning region, completely untouched by mass tourism.

Andaman Discoveries has been short-listed for the world's biggest Responsible Tourism Awards, the Virgin Holidays Responsible Tourism Awards 2007 and Asia's biggest awards, the Wild Asia's Responsible Tourism Awards 2007 in recognition for our efforts in the area of responsible tourism.

We organize customized trip depending on the needs of your guests, which include;

Soft eco adventure - hiking through virgin jungles, boat trips through lush mangroves, mangrove reforestation, snorkeling around vibrant reefs and fishing trips with local subsistence fishermen

Handicraft workshops - People can participate in hands on interactive workshops with community cooperatives including handmade soap, Batik and tie dye, all of which were started by women made widows from the tsunami

Cultural activities - Our trips are designed to engage the guest in the way of life of the villagers and people can participate in Thai cooking, cashew nut roasting, fruit picking, goat farming, rubber tapping and fishing.

Short-term volunteer placement - people can help out at local schools, environmental conservation, share their hobbies and work on a community project for as little as a few hours during their trip to enable them to give something back to the villages that they visit. Our volunteer program received the "Trip of a Lifetime" award from the National Geographic, and is proving popular with people from all backgrounds and of all ages.
