About EcoFirms.org
EcoFirms.org is a green and non-profit project that originated in 2005. It is entirely run and operated by like-minded volunteers. Our mission is to connect all eco friendly companies and organizations in the world and inform our visitors of their products and services. Our website is specifically designed to serve as a marketing and promotional tool for our member companies. To learn more about becoming a member please click here.
Our Ethical and Environmental Policy
To start with, we run a paperless office and only use online promotional methods.
This limits our paper consumption to an absolute minimum. However, being a web based only organization does not automatically mean that you're eco-friendly.
To work online every company must rely on the resources of a server and a computer, both of which are not very environmentally friendly. To make up for this we use a 100% wind powered server and we also finacially support the World Land Trust with regular donations to save the Rainforest in Ecuador. With each new registration in our directory we save 100sq meters of the Ecuadorian rainforest. This is an area large enough to protect about five trees and a variety of wildlife.
