Solar Tower and Green Technology

solar tower green technology Large-scale solar power plants are certanly the way forward in terms of obtaining alternative energy. Simply put, the way it works is that thousands of mirrors surround a concrete skyscraper, focusing the sun’s rays onto the base, thereupon turning water into steam. As the steam rises, it spins large turbines to generate electricity.

This massive project is an encouraging example of the innovators who are stepping up to the plate and doing something about the climate crisis. The company, Enviromission, states that each solar tower is big enough to create 200 MW of power and power 200,000 homes.

When built, it would have been the tallest building in the world. Watch this presentational video below, to get a general idea of how this system is designed.
