Green Wedding Photographer

Trying to become a responsible green wedding photographer I have decided to make regular financial contributions towards expanding the awareness of the environment and help to preserve its most vital assets. To do that on a global scale I have decided to use my business income to support the World Land Trust.

Being a vegan I try to take certain steps to reduce my environmental impact in my personal life and also as a wedding photographer. I began by switching over from film to digital media which is more 'animal friendly'. Traditional celluloid is unfortunately made of gelatin derived from animals.

In addition, I try to completely cut down on printed promotional materials and focus on electronic means of marketing. Also my most popular wedding packages include delivery on digital media only, hoping that images will be viewed as slideshows on personal computers or DVD players (alternatively printed on eco friendly papers, which I hope to offer in near future).

Having said that, there are certain aspects which are hard to overcome if I want to survive in this business, for instance driving a car or using a computer. My website is hosted on wind powered servers and I minimize all paper use and use electronic means of marketing. In addition, with any order above £700 I donate money on behalf of the newlyweds to preserve the rainforest. The donated money goes to save trees by buying and protecting the land across the entire Amazon area. So far I have managed to save 20230 square feet. (About 1000 trees).
