Soap Nuts are now popular with those wishing to embrace a ''greener'' lifestyle. The shells are obtained from the ''Soap Nut Tree'' of which there are many types. The shells that we import are from Sapindus Mukrossi - not to be confused with Sapindus Trifoliatus which produces a much smaller, darker nut.
It's comforting to know that the trees start producing nuts after nine years and continue to do so for another ninety years!! This makes for a long and sustainable cultivation. The mere presence of the trees prevents soil erosion and helps combat the production of ''greenhouse gases''.
By switching to using Soap Nut Shells, we help the Planet in more ways than one. Our Soap Nuts are biodegradable, free from bleach and harmful chemicals, used in Ayurvedic medicine, and multi purpose - useful all around the house and even the garden! They are also economical and beneficial to those with skin allergies.
If you are new to the concept of a chemical free, multipurpose cleaning agent at a fraction of the cost of conventional detergent, which is totally biodegradable and actively slows down global warming - we are the shop for you.
We also stock a great range of Essential Oils as well as Planet Friendly Jute Shopping bags.
